North Korea, Eritrea, and Israel have the highest military presence relative to their overall populations, with large active-duty forces and universal conscription deeply integrating military service into daily civilian life.
U.S. Soldiers with the Alaska National Guard, assigned to Joint Task Force–District of Columbia in support of the DC Safe and Beautiful mission, conduct presence patrols in Georgetown. Through vigilance, professionalism, and community engagement, Guardsmen work alongside interagency partners to help enhance public safety and provide reassurance to residents, commuters, and visitors. Their presence reflects a shared commitment to keeping Washington, D.C., safe, secure, and welcoming amid #Freedom250 celebrations.
