The "right" state of emotion to be in is considered to be a positive one, like happiness or contentment as it promotes well-being and a positive outlook on life; however, experiencing a range of emotions is natural and important, and sometimes feeling negative emotions can be necessary to process situations effectively.
I have come to the understanding that negative emotions are my friend and guide. Negative emotions make me aware of where my energy and attention is. It shows me what beliefs and ideas I am holding on to that don't serve me and I can choose to let them go.
